Rye Hill House, Newcastle College
The existing Grade B listed Rye Hill House forms the gateway to Newcastle College's new campus and has been carefully restored and extended to house student support facilities and an administration department. The project required the careful demolition of outbuildings, connected to the Georgian main house but not listed and included a need for a survey to locate and make safe existing utility services.
The building services were designed by Greenroom IKM to suit the older existing building and the new structure surrounding it. The general administration/support and catering facilities work well in this bright working environment.
