Robert Gordon University, Strategic Support Building
The Strategic and Support Services Building is a naturally ventilated office building for staff of The Robert Gordon University estates and finance teams, and is the first building in the broader masterplan for the University's Garthdee Campus.
The building incorporates open plan office accommodation over four floors, with meeting rooms and an executive suite forming a recessed penthouse level, incorporating a terrace opening up to views over the surrounding landscape.
Greenroom IKM completed the natural ventilation analysis and design for the main open plan office space to prove the cross flow ventilation strategy was acceptable. This building design also incorporates concrete bubbledeck structure which will provide additional thermal mass to aid the passive summer cooling strategy. A full intelligent lighting control syetem and BMS were also designed by our practice.
