Dundee Marketgait

Greenroom IKM were commissioned to design the full mechanical, public health and electrical services, for a new 6 storey office building in the heart of Dundee. The site is located between Dundee City Centre, the emerging cultural quarter and the central waterfront masterplan area.

The Client is also the end user, and detailed discussions were held to ensure their specific requirements were met. With the fifth floor area left for the company headquarters board room and function space, the remaining floors became standard office floor plates for varying departments.

Due to the function of the general open plan office area and the density of occupants, tempered fresh air to 4-pipe fan coil units was the most economical choice for the design team.

Although restricted by the existing site a rain water harvesting tank has been installed to service the main core areas. The office space has a daylight controlled lighting design throughout. An external ticker tape information system provides constant share price updates
